10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV)
When we respond to God’s grace and obey Him, He begins to live inside of us through the presence of the Holy Spirit. Not only does His Spirit make us fruitful in our personal lives as we grow in faith, but He wants us to bear fruit in our service for Him and become ministers (administrators) of His grace. God gives each person who responds to His grace at least one spiritual gift that can and should be used to build up His body, the church. He expects each person to use their unique combination of spiritual gifts, skills, abilities and experiences for the common good of the church. He builds His church by uniquely equipping and training each person for “works of service.”

Not only does God expect each person to serve, but He expects each person to make another commitment—a commitment to GO.
